Linda J Queen, who is married to Joseph Queen II has been a Community Activist for the past 5 years. She took on the responsibility representing her community as a concerned citizen. Mrs. Queen received her B.S in Social Work from Northwestern State University. She has many different affiliations such as Chairman of National Night Out Committee, Vice President of Bailey Heights Concerned Citizen Association, member of Coalition on Homelessness, Board Member on Campti Field of Dreams and Touch of Grace Adult Day Care Services. She is also a social worker consultant for Touch of Grace Adult Day Care Services, Overseer and Gardner for Natchitoches Community Garden site/ Campti Field of Dreams, and a member of the Natchitoches Parish Voter’s and Civic League. Lastly, she is the director at My Father’s House Ministry.

She retired from the State of Louisiana Department of Family & Children Services with 32 years; she is also the youth and children’s director at her local church, and an aide for the community garden and healthy eating events. Her healthy habits include creating gardens for naturally grown produce. Community members are encouraged to lease plots for personal use. Items in the garden are sold at a low price not only for affordability but for health and wellness as well. Mrs. Queen also shares recipes for those items least known and used in normal households such as eggplants, squash, and kale.
